Dog was trapped in the middle of the water for over 16 hrs. Then, rescuers finally found him

There are true heroes all around us, and these men are just two of them. When this tragedy hit, they worked tirelessly to rescue stranded animals. This amazing video is of just one of the many that they saved.
This story goes back to the flood in Louisiana back in 2016. CNN reported that it was the worst US disaster since Hurricane Sandy, with 6,900,000,000,000 gallons of water pouring down in just one week.

Many people were injured and stranded - and so were many animals.

In this video, you see this tirelessly working rescuers motor up to a shaking, pathetic looking dog. This dog has likely been stranded for over 16 hours at that point. Exhausted, wet, cold, he just wants to be able to lay down.

He's so relieved to be rescued it's heartwarming.
He's not alone - the Huffington Post estimated that upwards of 600 animals were rescued from the devastating flood. As heartbreaking as the damage was, it's nice to know that heroes like this exist to help the most vulnerable.
