Dog owner warns others after discovering hot dogs stuffed with sharp blades in her backyard

It's a dog owner's worst nightmare. Emma Medeiros, a Canadian woman from Regina, Saskatchewan, let her dogs out in her yard. When she saw one sniffing at an object on the ground, she went out to investigate. What she found turned her blood cold.
Medeiros's dogs, Ophelia and Pandora, had found three pieces of hot dog on the ground. “It was super nice out so I decided to sit on the front patio while they go do their business, until I noticed my border collie Ophelia sniff a piece of meat that was in the yard," Medeiros told Buzzfeed Canada.

That's when Medeiros decided to take a closer look at the meat on the ground because it seemed to shine. It's lucky that she did because, upon further investigation, she saw that there were pieces of razor blades embedded in the hot dogs.
On her Facebook page, Medeiros warned everyone in the neighborhood about what had happened to her:
"Im not sure where to post this but I took my fur babies out for a peee this morning and happened to notice some hot dog in my yard, which is very unusual. So i went up to the pieces and it turns out theres a bunch of razor blades in each piece.... im located on 6th & queen so anyone around me, PLEASE CHECK YOUR YARDS!!!!"
Medeiros expressed her shock about the backyard discovery, but also her concern for other people, especially children, in the neighborhood. "I don't think I've ever been so shocked in my life. It could have been someone’s child playing out front and not knowing any better and sticking that in their mouth. It’s terrible to think of,” said Medeiros.
The person responsible for this act has not been found. Saskatchewan animal cruelty punishments include fines up to $25,000 and/or two years of jail time.
Unfortunately, there are people out there who enjoy hurting other people and animals. Pet owners need to be alert and observant about where their pets are at all times and what they may be able to ingest.
Thankfully for Medeiros, her dogs never had a chance to eat the meat. She informed the Regina Humane Society about what she had found, and hopefully, her warning will prevent other dogs from being injured as well.
We're so glad that Pandora and Ophelia are healthy and safe! Please watch the video below and then share this scary discovery with your dog-owning friends and family on Facebook.
