Lonely dog escapes his backyard to get a hug from his best friend

Everyone could use a good hug now and then, even dogs. This story is about a dog whose cross-street connection with a lonely pup sparked a genuine friendship between them.
Meet Messy, a gentle Labrador retriever who lives in Thailand with his owner, Oranit Kittragul. Messy has a big heart and loves everyone he meets. This includes a dog who lives across the street from them, a lonely pup who looked to Messy for companionship.

The dog across the street is a Siberian Husky named Audi. His owner is often away at work, leaving Audi to by himself in the backyard. Like many dogs, loneliness leaves Audi anxious and unhappy.
Thankfully, Messy is close by and keeps Audi company. "When he feels lonely and cries, I always ask my dog to see and talk to him," Kittragul told The Dodo. "My dog just looks from my fence and sometime he barks to [Audi]. I don't know what they are communicating, but he stops crying."
One day, Audi's owner forgot to latch the gate to the backyard, and Audi got loose. Where did he run to when he had a chance at freedom? He ran across the street to see his best friend Messy, and to give the sweet Lab a loving hug.
"He ran to my dog and they hugged each other," Kittragul said, and she took a photo of that beautiful moment.
Audi was returned home, but the moment made clear the important friendship that exists between these two dogs. We hope that Messy and Audi get to spend more time together soon!
