Blind cat climbs Ireland's highest mountain with its owner, all for charity (5+ photos)

Stevie is a blind Irish calico cat. In 2012, her owner, 28-year-old filmmaker Patrick Corr, adopted her as a kitten from the Animal Care Society in Cork. He took her rambling around the Irish countryside in their area, with Stevie on a leash. Rambling is a popular pastime in Ireland and other parts of the British Isles. It's like hiking, but where you enjoy the scenery more.
Despite being blind, Stevie gets about very well outside and enjoys her walks with Patrick. She is even able to walk around on her own. The hardest part, Patrick says, was training her on the leash, but she's now a pro at it. He needs to keep things in the same place in the house, though, so she can get around. In 2015, he made a video of her that went viral.

In 2016, Patrick got the idea of climbing the tallest mountain in Ireland, called Carrauntoohil, which is in County Kerry, with his brother and Stevie.
Carrauntoohil is 3406 feet tall, chilly and a bit steep.
Patrick started a GoFundMe for the trip, intended to raise money for local animal charities such as The Animal Welfare Society and the Tipperary Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, to help other animals like Stevie survive and find homes.
He was able to raise over two thousand pounds, twice his goal, and up the mountain they went in March 2016.

He made a video about that, too.

Stevie is currently taking a well-deserved rest, but Patrick promises many more adventures for her in the future.
