3 cats practice their hunting skills, have no idea they are being stalked too

Cats are excellent hunters, seemingly not so very far removed from their wild cousins. They can remain almost motionless for great lengths of time as they watch their prey. Sometimes the only thing that gives them away is their flicking tails. And some cats "chatter," which is a short, staccato sound some people believe is an attempt to mimic a bird's call.
These three cats lie in tension as they watch a little bird hop around on the ground right outside the door. Although they are very aware of the bird, it seems that the bird is totally oblivious to the cats.

Of course, the glass door through which the cats are observing the bird will keep the little sparrow safe. Nevertheless, the cats' attention is completely riveted on the movements of the bird.
In fact, they are so entirely focused on the bird that they don't hear the dog coming up behind them.
The puppy sees the object of their absorption, looking over the backs of the perfectly still cats.
As soon as he sees the bird, his attentiveness awakens his own prey drive, and then next thing the cats know...
...is the dog aggressively launching himself toward the bird and the cats launching themselves into the air. As though they were lying on springs, three cats are suddenly airborne and then they scatter in three directions!
In the ruckus, the bird has taken off, too, and the pup is left at the door wondering where all his playmates went.
Let down, the puppy turns to the person videotaping the scene. "Will YOU play with me?" he seems to be asking.
I purposely left out stills of the cats' scattering in all directions, because you just have to watch that sequence for yourself. And you and your Facebook friends should be prepared to laugh first and then share the hilarity with others!
