The spirit of a dog can never be broken and this next story is proof of that. Cascade, a lovable husky, was given a second chance in life when a veterinarian convinced her owner from euthanizing her due to her special needs. Cascade has a condition where her vertebrae are fused together within her spinal column. No one could conclusively decided if this condition was birth or injury related.
Due to Cascade's state, she has no tail and it leaves her with having to wear a diaper, since she is privy to unwanted accidents. The veterinarian who saved her life mentioned placing her with K9 Rescue and Rehoming. This rescue took Cascade in and the staff immediately fell in love with her one-of-a-kind spirit.
While the husky breed is known to be of a larger size, Cascade's condition keeps her at smaller, more petite, proportion. At first, she had to wear leg braces to assist with balance and in gaining strength with her hind legs. Cascade did wonderfully, and now goes without the braces. However, she is still prone to being a little clumsy here and there.
Cascade's current foster mom just loves to dress her up in adorable outfits. She also has no issues working around her incontinence and in keeping up with her daily needs.
Cascade has proven to not let her special needs get in the way of her everyday life. She is happy, loves to play, has amazing energy and her climbing abilities are quite impressive due to her inability to jump.
Every dog deserves to find their forever home, and Cascade is looking for hers right now.
