Officer finds stray kitten outside and ends up with a partner who wouldn't leave his side

Lakeland, Fla. is a happening town on Father's Day. On June 17, 2017, an officer of the law found a lost gray and white kitten that Saturday evening, early in his shift, at the base of a lamppost on a street corner between Pine St. and Florida Ave. With no mother cat in sight, it appeared she had been orphaned or abandoned.
Officer Cardin decided to rescue her.

She was taken to the station for shelter and questioning, where she was put in a records box in the kennel with a warm blanket and promptly fell asleep. A Facebook post recorded the event for posterity the next day.
But in true detective film noir fashion, the little feline femme fatale quickly caught the eye of the sergeant on duty, Sergeant Wallace. Concluding she looked lonely, he decided to take her with him on his rounds about the station as his partner.
She loved every minute of it, despite catnapping on the job. In fact, she took to her tasks so well that Sergeant Wallace brought her home and named her Kelsey. She is now his partner for life as she has found her furever home.
