Adorable kitty saved from shelter discovers his doppelganger and won't leave his side

Unagi was a little kitten facing euthanasia at an animal control center in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. As his time was running out, he caught the attention of a young woman who noticed that Unagi was a dead ringer for her cat, only smaller. She realized she couldn't let the kitten die and sprang into action to save her cat's mini-me!
During her work break one day, the woman happened to see a picture of Unagi on a website. "I saw from a website by chance during my work break that a kitten who looks exactly like my cat, Suzume, was at the animal center. Kittens can only stay there for one week," she said. The next day was the kitten's last before he would be put to sleep.

The woman took the day off from work, got in her car at 4:30 AM, and drove straight to the animal control center to rescue Unagi. Once she adopted him, she took him immediately to her veterinarian.
After a very long day, Unagi entered his new home, but he was so frightened that he wouldn't come out of his carrier for a while.
Then the woman's older cat, named Suzume, heard the new kitten meowing. He raced into the room to greet his new little brother.
They were slowly introduced to each other, and soon they were best friends. Their resemblance is nearly identical and amazing to see.
Suzume soon had his own "mini-me" following him around the house like a shadow, trying always to be close to his beloved big brother.
These two "twins" may not be related, but their bond goes beyond one of blood.
Thanks to their loving owner, Unagi and Suzume have a wonderful home and each other for the rest of their lives.
