Eight years ago, a stray cat wandering the streets of Ibaraki, Japan, was found by Ryuji Tan. Taking pity on the homeless cat, Tan brought the cat home and the cat, Busao, became a dearly loved member of the family. It's that love for this cat that leaves his owner and his best canine friend, Rin, waiting in line to get any warmth from Busao's favorite item: the portable heater!
Every winter, when Tan brings out the heater, Busao is right there to claim ownership of it. "When it's cold, we use the heater every day to warm up," Tan said. "He will sit beside the heater and fall asleep." For almost nine years, this cat has ruled the heater when it's brought out of storage.

Often, Buseo will just come up to the heater and put his paws on the base for just a little foot warmup. He puts his feet on the edge of the heater so he can get as close to warmth as possible.
Buseo also likes to curl up next to the heater...
...and sometimes he even falls asleep near it!
As is the case with many cats, once they've claimed something as their own, you'll have to wait awhile to use it for yourself. Buseo often hogs the heater so that Tan and the family dog, Rin, have to wait their turn to get some warmth!
Buseo is one smart kitty. He knows the best spot in the house during the winter, and he won't waste one minute away from his precious warmth.
