Spastic, terrified kitten instantly transforms to cuddle bug under this child's spell

Do you know what an ailurophile is? It is the Greek word that means "lover of cats." In this happy little story, a young girl seems to embody the meaning of the word.
Meet Emmy, daughter of Farmer Mama, April, who is part of an organization of volunteer fosterers called Kitten Angels. Their mission is to rescue abandoned & orphaned kittens, pregnant kitties, mama kitties and their kittens through foster care. Emmy is their "cat whisperer."

When Emmy and April took in a trio of kittens and their surrogate mom Luna, all feral cats from the area of Mayfield, New York, the kittens were terrified. "These siblings were scared, mistrustful of humans, and nervous - but they didn't try to scratch or bite at all," April says.
But little Emmy has "that special touch." On their farm, she can calm a boisterous rooster and even cause full-grown boar hogs to roll over for a tummy rub. So taming kittens is something she just seems to do naturally. They all eventually fall under her spell.
Baja, one of the kittens, a beautiful tuxedo female, warmed right up to the little girl after a tasty tidbit and a gentle scratch on the head. In no time at all, she was cuddling up to the little girl. Even though April has seen her daughter's special gift with animals, she was surprised at how quickly Baja became tame in her arms. "Baja was the first to really warm up to Emmy. They just clicked. The complete trust she has when she is with my daughter is something that even I did not anticipate."
In over 20 years of fostering feral cats, April has yet to see one warm up as quickly as Baja did. In only a few hours from arriving at their home, Baja was Emmy's kitty. Wild to tame in absolutely no time. April says it was a 180° turnaround.
Now that Baja has accepted Emmy's love, she is learning to accept all things human and is well on her way to being a totally domesticated cat. And it's all due to Emmy's personal magic!
