Brother kitten keeps sister company and helps heal her with cuddles

In Star Wars, the brother and sister were Luke and Leia and Han Solo fell in love with Leia. Chewbacca was Han's faithful sidekick. In this story, Princess Leia and Chewbacca are brother and sister, and the love they have for each other would make a stellar movie.
The two were part of a litter of five tiny kittens picked up as strays in California. "The shelter transferred them to PAWS in Lynnwood, WA. There was no mom with them. They were severely malnourished and covered in fleas," Ashley (@youngestoldcatlady) the foster mom relates.

The kittens were weak from malnourishment and were covered in fleas. Several baths in Dawn detergent took care of the fleas, but they still needed a lot of care to overcome their poor start. One Siamese mix, a little girl called Princess Leia, was so emaciated that her coat had come off in spots on her tiny body.
Her brother, Chewbacca (Chewy for short) was especially bonded to her and stayed right with her all the time after they arrived at Ashley's home.
"They always loved to cuddle together and groom each other," Ashley said fondly. Wherever you saw one of them you also saw the other. They were never separated, even for a moment.
Unfortunately, even with the excellent care that Ashley provided, one little kitten passed away. The remaining four, however, did very well, even little Princess Leia. As soon as they were old enough to transition to permanent homes, the other two kitties found forever families.
Chewy and his beloved sister were just happy to still be together. Ashley's fondest wish was that they would be adopted together.
The pair stayed with Ashley for two more months. Finally, Ashley's dream of a forever home together for the duo came to pass and Chewy and Leia found a family just made for them.
"Fostering gives kittens like these, who have lost their mother, the chance to be cared for during the most vulnerable times of their life and go on to find loving forever homes," Ashley said. And the greatest gift of all is staying together!
Renamed Kiki and Mochi by their new family, the two kittens have grown into beautiful cats. They are still always together with Mochi still cuddling Kiki as he always has. If you wonder if they grew up to be happy cats, just look at the smile on Kiki's face!
