Police department "recruits" a feline officer to help keep city safe

When the Port Lavaca Police Department in Texas decided they needed a recruit for their office, they looked no further than a ginger and white cat named The Captain. This beautiful cat was at the Calhoun County Humane Society, his future uncertain when the men and women in blue came calling. The Captain was more than happy to answer the call!
When he first came to the station, The Captain immediately made it his turf by commandeering the station's couch for his own. He can often be found catching a quick nap there between his shifts when he isn't helping with computer database entry and watching over the citizenry from the second story station window.

As the official department police cat, The Captain has his own uniform which he smartly sports as he visits each office area to check in on his fellow officers. He looks sharp as he struts his stuff around the station, making sure that all of his officers and staff are safe and sound.
He pitches in a helping paw whenever one is needed, including responding to fan mail. Here, The Captain makes his mark in a letter thanking a local family for sending him toys and treats.
The Captain also greets people who come into the station and immediately puts them at ease. His presence in the department has improved morale immensely!
