Brave men find two pit bulls clinging to a fence during deadly Louisiana flood

The recent flooding in Louisiana has caused mass destruction for the inhabitants of Louisiana. Many were forced out of their homes, while others tragically lost their lives. Humans aren't the only ones affected by these floods, though -- numerous animals have been abandoned and left for dead.
Luckily, there are people willing to their risks to rescue them. Two of these people are rescue volunteers Mike Anderson and Darrell Watson. While searching the waters in Baton Rouge for anyone or anything that needed saving, they came across two stranded pit bulls hanging on for their life.

According to Anderson, he spotted the pit bulls from the flooded streets. He could tell both dogs were exhausted and worn out – Anderson told the Dodo the dogs, one of which was only a puppy, had probably been trapped for 16 hours. (The Dodo).

“Regardless of breed or type of animal, none deserve to be left to struggle to survive,” he told The Dodo. (The Dodo).
Although both of the rescued dogs had tags, there was no indication of where they may have come from or if their owners were anywhere nearby. At this point, it wasn't impossible that their owners may have even been one of the deceased victims of the terrible flooding.

After the dogs were safe, Anderson and Watson were back to look for more pets (and people) to help. According to The Dodo, the pair has helped over 100 humans and animals that were affected by the flooding.
Though devastation has hit Louisiana, there remains a glimmer of hope. Volunteers and rescue workers are banding together to rescue and save as many people and animals as they can - often risking their own lives.

Anderson and Watson have given hope to not only the two pit bulls they saved, but to the 100 others as well.
