With the election over, we thought a little reprieve from the political chaos is in order. And what better way to put your mind at ease than looking back at some of the most memorable political candidates to grace the platform.
Never fear, this isn't a bait-and-switch. These cat-didates have little to do with politics and more to do with paw licks and, yes, sometimes ticks.
Meet some of the candidates that have run for various offices in the U.S. and abroad.
1. Limberbutt McCubbins for President of the United States (2016)
Limberbutt has a truly fantastic first name – maybe not the most presidential, but we can overlook that.
2. Dr. Jekyll or “Dr. J” for President of the United States (2016)
Limberbutt faces some stiff competition from another feline in the foray.
Dr. J has his patriotic bow tie primed and ready.
3. Stubbs, the Mayor of Talkeetna, Alaska
Dr. Jekyll and Limberbutt McCubbins might learn a thing or two from this enterprising feline who has been the “mayor” of a small Alaskan town for the past eighteen or so years (Stubbs serves as an honorary mayor of the town, according to his Instagram account). Stubbs also reportedly made a run for the Alaskan Senate.
4. Earl Grey for Prime Minister of Canada (2015)
Our neighbors to the north have had their own cat contender for the highest office.
These cats have the guts to take on the biggest political players and we're more than happy to watch them run. They may never hold office, but you can't count anything out in this crazy political climate.
If you know someone that needs a break from this election cycle be sure to share these charming cat-didates with them.
