Parrot approaches young puppy — don't miss out on their unique encounter

An unlikely friendship has blossomed between a Shetland Sheepdog pup and a curious parrot. If you thought fluff and feathers didn't mesh, this viral video will leave you sorely mistaken!
In the video, with over 300,000 views, a family's parrot approaches their new pooch, not totally sure what to expect. Then, before you know it, the bird and pup are face to face in what at first looks like a precarious encounter.

In the video, you see that the puppy has its butt in the air, wagging his tail —clearly ready to play. Then, the parrot starts play-biting his fluffy sibling's nose! Soon, the Shetland Sheepdog is swatting gently at the parrot while the latter is hopping right around him, continuing to play.
It's quite a remarkable sight — the highly intelligent parrot definitely understands the dog is a puppy and plays so gently with him. It's as if the parrot is welcoming the puppy into the home, making him feel comfortable there.
While it's not shown in the video, we're sure it was absolutely a relief for the family to see their parrot accept their new family member.
