Adorable dog has a field day with this unexpected piece of food

Adorable doggies are simply irresistible, and the little cutie in the video below is no exception as it calmly enjoys a banana while lying on its back. But many fruits are dangerous for dogs: is the banana safe?
Fortunately, yes. "In moderation, bananas are a great low-calorie treat for dogs," reports an article from the American Kennel Club. Bananas are a good source of potassium, fiber and copper -- but are rather high in sugar, so the AKC advises against making them a part of a dog's regular diet.

What about other fruits? Blueberries are excellent treats; they are full of antioxidants, fiber, and urinary tract infection-fighting tannins. Best of all, they are easy to throw!
Avocados should be avoided. The pit and skin contain a fungicidal toxin called persin that can leach into the flesh of the fruit and cause vomiting and diarrhea in dogs.
Pears, oranges, watermelon and apples are safe for dogs in moderate amounts; just be sure to remove peels, rinds, seeds and cores before allowing your dog to eat them.
Grapes are well-known for being fatally toxic to dogs -- even in raisin form, no dog should ever be given grapes or raisins as a treat. The exact toxin has not been identified, reports PetMD, but dogs of any breed or size are susceptible. If your dog accidentally ingests grapes or raisins, call a veterinarian immediately if he exhibits any of the following within two hours: vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, weakness, foul breath, tremors or obvious distress. A few dogs eat grapes with no effect, but it's too lethal to risk.
