Runaway dog dodged rescuers for 2 months, 6-year-old girl saves the day

Meghan Topping, 6, is a hero despite her young age.
She managed to rescue a dog that had gone missing for two months and escaped the hands of professional rescuers. The adults tried for two months to save the runaway, scared dog named Daisy, but they had no success. Finally, they asked Meghan to give it a shot.
Meghan lured Daisy in on her first try.
How did she do it? When Meghan first approached Daisy, she began to run away. Then she sat down in the grass across from him (as shown in the picture above). "I army crawled on my tummy," said Meghan. Daisy then ran over to Meghan.

When news reporters from KSBW Action News 8 asked Meghan how she knew what to do, she replied, "It's just basic. We play with them. Trust. Love."
But wait -- this isn't just a rescue story. There's an even sweeter ending. Meghan's best friend, Ava (pictured to the left), ends up adopting Daisy, so Daisy finally has a forever home.
