Owner shows parrot a cellphone. Here's what happens

This parrot appears to have made a new friend and is having a great time chatting away. Do you think he knows his pal is a video, or is he too involved in his conversation to notice?
By nature, parrots do love to socialize. According to an article on LiveScience.com, parrots in the wild live in flocks, and the flock of an African Grey can be as many as 20 to 30 birds.

The Indian Ringneck Parakeet, which the cutie in the following video looks to be, needs a lot of socialization and interaction. In fact, ParrotSecrets.com states that a Ringneck’s owner must give him daily attention, in addition to his regular feeding and cage cleaning tasks, or his parrot will become unhappy. An unhappy Ringneck can mean a destructive, unfriendly and nippy bird, rather than the gentle, lovable bird that he is capable of being.
The good news is the Ringneck is very intelligent, so you and your parrot will have plenty to do. He likes to learn new tricks and has been known to speak up to 250 words! They are also able to talk with extreme clarity, so be careful what words you teach him.
To help conquer boredom, Birdtricks.com suggests that you place your parrot's cage in an area where you and your family spend a lot of time (but away from cooking smoke and drafts). Against a wall or in a corner is preferable, so he can enjoy being close to you, while still feeling secure in his cage.

And you can always let your bird use your cellphone. Just be sure to supervise his calls.
