Owner laughed and said dog was chained for over 10 years. Then one day, he is given a second chance at life

Imagine being chained to a wall all your life. No affection, no stimulation, no freedom. In the heat of an Arizona summer, where temperatures often reach 120 degrees in the shade, imagine no respite from the stifling heat, no comfortable place to rest and no relief from the dirty surroundings.
This was the life this lonely, mistreated dog shown in the video below was forced to live. He was fed and watered, but his only shelter was a wooden bench under which he’d lie to find a reprieve from the elements. His days were long and empty, and each was exactly like the one before it.

Can you imagine it? Neither could a stranger who would become the desolate dog's savior. For three years the man had watched this poor dog, and in all that time, he’d never – even once – seen anyone pay the slightest attention to the animal. The dog didn’t seem friendly, and why should he be? Humans had not had much interaction with him for a long, long time.
Then one day, the stranger had had enough. And for this lonely dog, things were about to change.
It didn’t happen overnight, but little by little, the dog decided to take a chance and discover how this human was different from all the others he’d ever known (few though they were). Finally, they were fast friends.
Then a miracle occurred. The owner agreed to allow the stranger to take the dog out of the prison he’d known as “home,” and thus began a journey to freedom that would change the dog’s heart and life forever.
Dubbed “Rusty Diamond,” the dog would learn that not all humans are heartless. His new friend took care of him, bathed him and started him down a path to a whole new life.
Rusty Diamond found a forever home with caring humans and four-footed brothers and sisters to keep him company.
Watch this heartwarming story to see how a little care and affection turned Rusty Diamond’s life around. If you find this story of redemption inspiring, share it with your friends on Facebook. And give your own dog an extra hug tonight!
