It’s really hard to think that some people, rather than giving back to the puppy who gave them so much, would abandon him just when he needed their help. But that’s the way the world is. Fortunately, it is also true that there are people who can see deeper than outward appearances!
Hercules is a tiny, white dog with a huge personality. When his back legs ceased working, his owners decided to give him up. The shelter that took him in knew that he was a dog with a zest for life, and maybe a little help would give Hercules what he needed.
So they bathed him and brushed him and made him feel clean and happy. His friendly demeanor makes friends easily, and the people at the shelter knew that with the right kind of care, Hercules could maybe find a whole new lease on life.
With regular care and exercise, the little dog made amazing strides toward walking again. One of his favorite activities is swimming, and his legs work well in the water, even if he needs a little help on land.
Little by little, Hercules made progress. Even though not perfect, he regained some use of his legs, and this happy pup soon could get around much better.
Then the happiest day came! A young couple came in looking to adopt a dog, and they walked out with two! Hercules now not only has a new friend, he has a new forever home, too. What more could one little dog ask?
