When you first see this video, you may cry, You wouldn’t be alone in your heartbreak—I cried, too. It’s hard to imagine that someone would intentionally starve another life, but that’s exactly what happened to this little dog when Rescue from the Heart discovered her.
Taken to the shelter, the volunteers made a promise to the sweet pup with the huge, soulful eyes. They told her they wouldn’t give up.
She was emaciated and her organs were beginning to shut down. Just a few more days, and she would have been beyond help. Thankfully, someone alerted Rescue from the Heart and they took her in.
They gave her the name Angel and when she first came, she was too weak to even stand. It was going to take a lot of love and gentle care to bring her back from the brink of death. More than that, it would take a miracle.
She had to eat tiny amounts of food at first, because too much all at once would have killed her.
The gave her their strength, and then one day, miraculously, Angel stood in her own strength. It was a day for smiling!
Angel began to mend, body and soul. Her caretakers were so happy, so excited to see her well on the road to recovery.
She began to make friends, and it seemed like her whole life was turning around.
Angel soon joined the ranks of the other dogs that fortune had smiled upon when they were taken in by Rescue from the Heart. She certainly looked like a different dog!
Angel not only found the will to live again, but she was blessed with a forever home that included not only people who love her, but a new four-footed friend and companion, too.
