A “horse whisperer” is someone who tames and trains horses by gentle methods and speech. Based on that definition, this lovely Doberman Pinscher, Boss, perfectly fits the bill.
But can a dog really be a horse whisperer? Is it possible?
Boss has an unusual and fascinating relationship with his best friend, a grey horse named Contino.
Whether it's leading Contino in or out of his stall, Boss has a handle on things. His gentle ways encourage trust between the two animals and they seem to be fast friends.
Playing in the paddock is a favorite pastime with these buddies, and even when he could be lying in the shade, Boss prefers the companionship of the horse.
Faithfully beside Contino, Boss is patient and happy to stay near his best friend. With him there, the horse relaxes and settles down for a bite or two of the fresh grass.
Seemingly grateful for Boss's ministrations, Contino gives the dog a back rub in appreciation. Boss happily stands for the treatment.
Boss and Contino enjoy each other's company as they unwind in the tranquil setting of Contino's paddock.
This is the kind of friendship we should all be lucky enough to have: complete acceptance and appreciation not only for our similarities, but for our differences, too!
