Heartbroken dog prompts owner to write this amazing note to the neighbor

You're probably familiar with the old adage: "Cats rule, dogs drool," as claimed by Sassy in "Homeward Bound." It's pretty well-known that cats and dogs hate each other, at worst, and at best, they mildly tolerate each others' existence.
That's what makes this story so cute, and so unique!

"Dear Neighbor,
This is going to seem ridiculous, but I thought you should know that my dog (who lives next door with me) is madly in love with your cat ... and has been for probably 6 months!
Three times a day, he puts his paws on our railing to look at him/her in your window sill.
Now that you have potted plants there, he is heartbroken ... but keeps looking for your cat every time.
Maybe your plants could switch to a different window?
From,
Your neighbor + her adoring dog!"

Cats and dogs may be known to hate each other, but it's actually more of a misunderstanding than anything. According to The Dodo, they're natural enemies in the wild, fighting for the same food. When brought together, they misinterpret each others' cues, like when a dog runs up to sniff and investigate, and the cat sees it as threatening.
