Pitbull knows that cat is sound asleep, so literally tiptoes down the hallway

Redd the Pitbull is as cautious as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs, as the saying goes. He knows the cat is there, sleeping away, and he is NOT going to wake her up!
After all, terrible things happen when cats are awake, even if you have a reputation for being a tough guy. And Redd is as tough as they get, isn’t he? You’ll wonder when you see how carefully he gets past the sleeping pussycat.

Pitbulls have an undeserved bad reputation in some circles. That’s because they were used as fighting dogs and are very powerful. When treated badly or raised and trained poorly, the pitbull can be a formidable enemy. But before the 80s, they were rarely viewed that way. In fact, both Petey, the dog in The Little Rascals and Tige, the dog who lives in Buster Brown’s shoe, were pitbulls that were excellent with children.
Redd apparently knows not to mess with the cat in his house. So in order to get past her, he has to sneak. And he’s really good at it! Putting one paw down and pausing, he slowly edges down the hall past the sleeping cat.
Then he lifts another paw and pauses again, his attention riveted with that snoozing feline.
At one point, he nearly backs up, but then holds his position — and his breath — until the danger passes. Who knows? Perhaps the cat yawned, or flickered an eyelid, or twitched his tail.
Whatever the danger was, Redd knows how to freeze in position, being absolutely quiet so that if the cat wakes up, it won’t be because the dog did anything to wake her!
Finally, with the encouragement of his owner, Redd sneaks past the dozing cat. Once beyond the danger zone, though, his vigilance doesn’t let up. He knows that a cat attack from the rear is always a possibility.
What do you think of Redd’s ability to tiptoe through this cat mine field? Did you find yourself holding your breath as you watched him maneuver his way down the hall? I know I did!
