Woman's cat has been missing for more than 2 years. She finally spots him while checking a shelter's social media page

Sometimes, things are just meant to be — and this is one of those stories. It all begins with Jimmy the cat's habit of wandering. His parents always let him roam outside and never worried about it because he could take care of himself and always came back home. When Jimmy's mom discovered that Jimmy was missing, she didn't think this story would have a happy ending.
She spent days roaming around the neighborhood, looking for him and calling out to him. She made posters and asked people if they had seen him. She had no luck. Eventually, she had to move on, but she never gave up hope.

This story picks back up again an unbelievable 2 1/2 years later. Jimmy's mom happened across a post from the West Milford Animal Shelter Society, and the cat in the post looked a lot like Jimmy. Could it be?
After corresponding back and forth, she went to go visit. Full of hope, she brought some toys he would recognize and went in nervously. She approached the cage, and as soon as he saw her and heard her voice...
He went right up to her and rubbed her head! It was Jimmy all right, without a doubt.
According to the ASPCA, about 6.5 million pets are surrendered to shelters in the U.S. every year. That could be good news for you, though, if you're missing your own Jimmy. Don't give up searching!
