The Rhodesian Ridgeback is part of AKC’s hound group, and was originally bred in Africa to hunt lions. Looking at this little girl, you might have a bit of trouble seeing her chasing big game on safari, though. But watch the video as photographer Greg Coffin captures her growing up from 2 months through 3 years.
In a mere 23 seconds, Sophie (aka Diablo's Tuscan Dream) is shown in the same spot on the wall for all three years.
From a very young baby, with adorably hanging ears, she is pictured standing along a wall…
...to a year plus…
...to three years old, Sophie cooperates with her owners to document her growth.
Now, Ridgebacks are known as intelligent dogs and for someone with a bit of dog knowledge they can be fairly easy to train. But that doesn’t mean that she stood there like a good girl every time they posed her for the camera!
The outtakes of this photoshoot are hilarious, as Sophie tries to bolt…
...and lies down…
...and lets out a big yawn.
This is a beautiful dog, and one her owners are understandably proud of. The photographer is patient and his assistant, Amanda, is good at getting Sophie to stand still for pictures. But that doesn’t mean it was always easy!
Watch the video and marvel at how fast she grows, and then have fun seeing the outtakes that show a more complete picture of the process. What do you think? Would your dog stand still for this? Tell us in the comments!
