The rescue dog with the crooked face that just wants to find a home

If you were a broken, sick, elderly or unwanted dog in New York, New Jersey, or beyond, you would definitely want to know Courtney Bellew, director of Special Needs Animal Rescue (SNARR). The White Plains, NY woman has spent her life rescuing these special dogs.
Fortunately for a sweet pit bull with a facial deformity, she was there to bring him home and love him when his family abandoned him, tied to a fence at a vacant house in Tennessee. For six weeks, the dog survived on food brought to him by neighbors.

Despite his clownish face, "Woody" does not have any health issues. His twisted visage was caused by an attack from another dog when he was just five weeks old. His former owners didn't get veterinary help for him, so his face healed crookedly.
Woody is about eight months old but acts even younger. He's full of life and loves to play. In fact, he knows no strangers. Everyone is his friend.
Woody's foster mom says he loves to cuddle up and sleep with her. In fact, when she first brought him home, she was sick and he seemed to know something was wrong. He curled up next to her on the couch and stayed there. Now he loves to sleep with his gentle head on her body.
Woody only has two problems. He doesn't want to share his home with other male dogs, and he likes chasing cats. He does fine with female dogs, though. Woody is looking for a "furever" home, preferably before the holidays. If you're interested in adopting him or would like to donate to his care and that of the other dogs that are SNARR rescues, just hop over to their website.
