Senior shelter cat finds someone he loves and finally comes out from hiding under blanket

Imagine how you'd feel if after you had loved your family for all your life, they refused to love and care for you just because you got old. Apparently, that's what happened to this old fellow who was left with a pet sitter. They left him there and never came back for him. Then the pet sitter surrendered him to a shelter.
In the shelter, the only problem the cat named Reese had was this: He was 15 years old. When people came into the shelter looking for a cat, they wanted kittens or younger cats. No one wanted an old cat. So he hid under a blanket, sad and confused, and refused to come out.

Then one day just before New Year's, imgur user MeganBanana wandered into the shelter and saw him hiding there. Poor old guy, she thought, I cannot just walk away without giving him some love. After coaxing him out from under the blanket, she scratched him under the chin and loved on him. He responded to her immediately and she knew she couldn't leave him there.
The shelter staff was so happy to see Reese find a loving home that they packed up all his belongings and waived the adoption fee. MeganBanana took him right home.
Now, you might think that she didn't know what she was getting into, but you would be totally wrong. The reason is that MeganBanana already had one fifteen-year-old cat at home!
The old cat settled right in, much preferring his new mom's lap to hiding under a blanket in a cold cage.
MeganBanana says, "I hope to spend my entire life rescuing and caring for senior animals just so that they leave this world knowing they were loved."
