Deaf and blind kitten has grown into a gorgeous calico cat after being rescued

An Egyptian man found a tiny calico kitten living on and around the staircase of his apartment building. He realized that even though the kitten was a few weeks old, she had not yet opened her eyes. When the man examined the kitten more closely, he understood why: she had been born without any eyes.
The man, Zayed K., felt for the little kitten, and even though he couldn't bring her into his home — he was living with five other family members — he made sure to bring food for the cat every day. The kitten began to grow bigger, but her eyes never opened. "I opened her eye sockets to check, but there was nothing inside. That's when I knew that she was completely blind," Zeyad explained.

When Zeyad had to go away for a weekend with family, he constantly worried about the kitten that he named Votchy. When he returned, Votchy was in distress. "I returned home to find her lying down on my doorstep, and she was just skin and bones, looking a lot dirtier than she was before. My family didn't need any more convincing after seeing that saddening sight, as I had been telling them how a blind stray cat wouldn't be able to survive on her own and how we needed to take her in," said Zeyad.
Zeyad started feeding the kitten around the clock and helped her to her litter box every couple of hours. Eventually, Votchy began to gain strength and started exploring her new environment.
"She learned to navigate around the apartment more easily than I'd expected. When I first brought her in she could barely walk. The more strength she regained, the more she started exploring everywhere, even found a few favorite sleeping spots in tight spaces around the house," Zeyad stated.
As Votchy grew stronger, Zeyad and his family realized that she was deaf as well. "She didn't seem to be startled by any loud, jarring noise even though my other cat would immediately start running away if I started the vacuum or blender," Zeyad said. "She gets startled super easily if someone touches her even slightly. When I snapped my fingers really loudly right next to her ears, she would not even flinch or react in the slightest."
Being deaf and blind has not stopped Votchy from growing up to be a beautiful, healthy, happy cat. She loves to play with her tail and enjoys exploring the house. Votchy also enjoys snuggling with her human family whenever she gets the chance.
Zeyad's compassionate nature has given Votchy the opportunity to live a happy life. "It was one of my better decisions in life. Now she's living her life just like any other cat, and absolutely loves to be pet," Zeyad said. Here's to many more years of happiness and joy for Votchy!
