Family trusted grandparents to look after cat while on vacation. It's been 10 years and they haven't given him back

It's a clear case of "kitnapping." No, it's not a misspelled word, because in this case, a couple of senior citizens refuse to return the cat they agreed to watch while his family was on vacation.
Reddit user erkah147's mother saw Tiger when he was just a tiny kitten in a local animal shelter, and her heart told her she couldn't just leave him there. It was shortly before the holidays, and she simply couldn't stand to think of that tiny kitty there all alone. So she took him home.

Then one summer about 10 years ago, the family decided to take a vacation. Not wanting to stress Tiger out by taking him along, they left him with the grandparents.
It wasn't the first time they'd left an animal with the old folks, but it sure was the first time they refused to give the animal back!
Tiger got along famously with the grandparents. He especially took to Grandpa, who had never shown much interest in the family pets before.
For that matter, the pets had never shown much interest in Grandpa, either.
But this time was different. Tiger took to Grandpa, and soon his snuggles and purrs made a way into the old gentleman's heart.
Now wherever Grandpa is, Tiger isn't far away. He cuddles in Grandpa's lap or curls up beside him, content to be near the man he lives for.
"Their bond is very tight, wherever my grandpa is, Tiger is with him, either on his lap or sleeping right beside him. He really brings a lot of joy to their lives," erkah147 said.

Tiger gets lots of attention where he is; much more, in fact, than he would from a busy family.
And of course, his other people visit him often. It's a real win-win situation! Share Tiger's story with your friends. Have you ever taken care of an animal you were tempted to keep? Well, join the crowd!
