Abused dogs muzzled with hair ties are finally rescued and are living the life they deserve

Two puppies were recently found in horrible condition by a maintenance worker investigating a burst pipe in his apartment building. The worker smelled something foul coming from one of the units and decided to investigate.
What he found absolutely shocked and devastated him. Two puppies were being kept in a crate full of urine and feces. They were clearly being abused and very afraid.

The worker got closer and soon realized that the puppies weren't making any noise. This was because their mouths were being held shut with small, elastic hair ties. The worker called Wichita Animal Action League, and the puppies were soon rescued.
The puppies were taken to the vet where they were cleaned and freed of the hair ties binding their mouths. The puppies soon realized they were being helped, and the sounds they made were heartbreaking. They were also in quite a lot of pain, but the vet was able to give them medication to ease them into feeling better.
Luckily, this story – which started out so disturbingly – has a happy ending. The puppies are both doing very well and are almost ready for adoption! It just goes to show how kindness and love can win out, even in the bleakest of circumstances.
