Puppies make people smile. Puppies dressed in costumes or with neatly groomed fur make people smile even more. The problem with many animal costumes and accessories, though, is that they are cheaply made and unable to survive the rough-and-tumble world of cats and dogs.
Leslie Harry, a leather craftsman and proud dog owner, became keenly aware of this problem when getting ready for her dog's birthday. Most of the party hats Harry discovered for dogs were flimsy and made from plastic. Rather than contribute to the world's landfill with more plastic, Harry chose to make Eevee's first hat out of leather.

Starting with a birthday crown, Harry has gone on to create a whole line of durable leather dog hats, adding a new one every day. Her goal is to have 365 hats at the end of the year.
Some hats follow a specific theme, such as this one based on "Alice in Wonderland." Others are centered on specific holidays such as Valentine's Day or St. Patrick's Day.
Harry's steampunk side comes out in a few, such as the one above. Harry designs every hat. "I am one person that conceptualizes, designs, executes and finishes all pieces," she states on her website.
Because she creates each hat herself, she can do custom orders, letting dog owners personalize their pet's hair piece. The colors of her pieces are vibrant and will draw attention no matter where your dog goes. Because they are made of leather, they can be used over and over.

Whether Eevee is heading out for a short walk or just hanging around the house, she is the best dressed dog around. With her hair neatly done and her hat in place, she certainly draw smiles from all she meets.
