High schooler takes his 92-year-old great-grandma to prom, and the crowd just cannot get enough

For many of us, prom is one of the most special nights of our high school experience. Getting all dressed up, dancing with friends, and making incredible memories is something all high-schoolers treasure. But one high-schooler made his prom experience a little bit different - and the internet can't get enough.
Dakota Wollan of Watford City, North Dakota, enjoyed a prom date with a difference, and it's too cute for words. Instead of attending alongside a fellow classmate, he asked his parents for advice on his date. And his dad came up with a truly adorable idea!

Dakota's dad revealed that his great-grandmother had never had the opportunity to attend her own prom, so Dakota decided this might be her perfect opportunity. He thought it would be a sweet idea to share this special experience with someone truly important in his life.
Dakota even arranged a proper prom-posal for his great-grandma! "I have this old truck she gave me, it’s a 1985 ford she handed down to me and I got it running again. So, I took that truck and made a sign," he explained.
But at first, Madeline Miller wasn't totally convinced. "I was just wondering why he would want a 92-year-old going to prom with him when there are so many young girls in the school," she said.
But Dakota was insistent, saying he wouldn't go to the prom without her. Miller had missed her own prom, having been forced to drop out of high school to help out on the family farm after her dad fell ill, and Daktoa was honored to offer his great grandma the opportunity she'd missed out on.
When the unlikely duo entered the prom, the entire school cheered for the pair. "As we walked, people [were] clapping and hollering," Miller remembered fondly. "We walked out on the floor, and everyone just went wild," Dakota agreed.
And just like with every prom, the highlight of the evening was the pair's dance. When the two took to the floor, there was barely a dry eye in the house! They were certainly the showstoppers of the night, and it's not hard to see why.
